KARATE VIDEO CLIPS & OTHERS

Here are my collection of Karate video clips, street fighting video clips and self defense video clips. I spent countless hours searching the web for Karate video clips or street fighting video clips showing:

  • effective Karate bunkai and techniques for fighting and self defense.

  • effective street fighting techniques which can complement Karate.

  • self defense applications against common habitual acts of physical violence (HAPV).

  • dangerous or risky Karate bunkai and techniques for real life applications.

Below are all the Karate video clips, street fighting video clips and self defense video clips you may download for free. Just RIGHT-CLICK your mouse and select "SAVE TARGET AS..." to save these video clips into your PC for viewing anytime you like.

My thanks and appreciation to Stanic Milos Sensei of Tsunami Dojo in Belgrade for these excellent Karate video clips below showing classical Karate techniques for fighting.

Ushiro empi bunkai Classical Karate showing ushiro empi application.
Mawashi empi Classical Karate showing shuto strike/block and takedown via a chin jab & sweep. Also shows mawashi empi as an inside block and counter.

I believed in modern combative techniques and tactics as taught by instructors like the late Carl Cestari (Unarmed Combat). Below are some very good street fighting video clips from this great close combat instructor. View the Karate video clips above and then these street fighting video clips to see the similarities between them. Also try to see the difference between the classical Karate videos above and common sport-based Karate (what most people learn today).

Below are some self-defense video clips showing techniques which in my opinion are risky and difficult to execute under stress. With due respect to the respective instructors, I'm not saying that these techniques won't work, just that they need to be tested against moving and resisting training partners to determine the chances of them working successfully in real life. Generally, I do not recommend too much wrist-locking or fine motor skills in a dangerous situation. It might work better if the opponent has been sufficiently distracted or disabled by stomping, head butting, sweeping, spitting, slapping, poking, clawing or even biting . Note that the Karate video clips above consist of many gross motor skills which are more applicable under stress.

Bear Hug This technique requires considerable strength to work.
Head Lock It's hard to slip your arm upward to execute the escape.
Lapel Grab It's hard to execute fine motor movement such as wrist-lock or wrist-throw under stress.
Shoulder Throw This technique requires considerable strength to work for a woman.

Why do I emphasize so much on simple Karate techniques? Look at the real street fights video clips below. A real fight is messy and it's not easy to apply fine motor skills such wrist-locks or high kicks on moving, resisting opponents, unless you are really swift and accurate. Also see how the distance are closed so fast that it's impractical to use any long or mid-range techniques. Some boxing, clinching and grappling skills would definitely be useful most of the time in a real fight. With my new 2 GB web server, I've added many new video clips showing real fights.

Car Park Boxing See how hard it is to hit a moving, ducking opponent, and how the clinch is used to control a person.
Car Park Brawl This fight should be ended with clinching, throwing, grappling & submission. Punching is not working.
Teens Brawl See how much pulling, pushing, shoving & clinching is done here. Look out for the semi-suplex throw.
Skater Punk Never stick around wild or aggressive people. And keep your guard up around them.
Bicycle Race Fight Well, this is what will happen if you don't know how to throw proper punches.
One Vs Four See how aggression and pre-emptive strikes can change the odds when outnumbered.
Kimbo See this illegal challenge fight between two gang members. Watch out for the nasty cut.
Soccer Match Bully This is what will happen if you when you quarrel with someone and don't see the signs of violence.
Chaotic Gang Fight In a chaotic gang fight, grappling is risky, you can be attacked from all directions. Better to hit and run.
Pimp KO by Karate Master Sometimes a nicely aim shot is all you need to end a fight. See how Age uke  is use as a strike.
