How good a martial artist you are going to become will depend on how fast you lose your weight and increase your muscle mass. To lose weight, you have to take some strong decisions. You need to make changes in your life style.
You must stop eating junk food at the restaurants. You must also stop eating sugary foods like cakes. In addition to controlling your eating habits, you must also do some form of cardio exercises apart from your training.

Green vegetables and colorful fruits are rich sources of vitamins. Vitamins help your muscles to be strong. Other items you can include in your diet are unpolished rice and other whole grains.
Fish, eggs and chicken are also fat free which you can eat safely. They supply your body with the much needed protein for your workouts.
Drinking plenty of water will help you to lose your weight fast. Drinking lots of water will keep your stomach full and prevents you from eating in between meals.
You can substitute plain water with green tea but remember, do not substitute water with carbonated drinks. Sugar adds more calories and if you drink sweetened drinks, you will be putting on more calories than needed.
When you practice martial arts, you may think that you are pouting on more weight. This is because you are building more muscle mass. Your clothes will become tighter instead of becoming loose.
More muscles will be built on the arms and chest. Your waist gets narrower, an indication of losing your belly fat. Even if your weight increases while practicing martial arts, there is nothing to worry because you are building muscles and not accumulating fat.
