SELF DEFENSE FORUM & KARATE FACEBOOK PAGE

We've just launched our Karate Facebook page in Dec 2010 which will function as the self defense forum for Karateka or any martial artists to share their views and experience on Karate and it's use for fighting and self defense.
I'm especially interested to see Karateka from all walks of life sharing their views on effective street fighting techniques and usage of pressure points strikes.
You may also post your views on Shotokan kata and it's usefulness in training for self defense purposes. Finally, let's hang out and chat leisurely with each other through the Facebook chat and discussion board.
Feel free to interact with many Karateka in Facebook on this page: including me and the Founder of Kissaki Kai Karate, Vince Morris together with my sensei Vince Choo and many other Karate masters like David Yap and Dan Loh. I would love to hear your views regarding Karate, BJJ, Boxing, Muay Thai, MMA or any martial arts in our Facebook discussion board or wall.
Our self defense forum is unique in the sense that it focuses mainly on Karate kata, bunkai and techniques for real life situations. It's a virtual gathering place for Karateka who wants to share and learn jissen (real combat) kumite for self defense.
I've already transferred some interesting and hot topics to the Facebook discussion board. Please LIKE the page to join in the discussion.

We shall have few interesting polls every now and then. In the last hot poll (ended May 2006), 47 percent of our visitors voted that Kata are indispensable in Karate training while over 30 percent voted it as quite important. Interestingly, only 5 percent prefers Kihon and Kumite over Kata.
Another poll just ended on Dec 2010 below.

Please feel free to give your feedbacks or comments (even flamers too) here. We have deep passion in what we do and how we train so your feedbacks are very important for us to constantly strive to improve ourselves.
Alternatively, you may post your views on our Facebook page for all to read.
We hope this self defense forum would give us the means to share and communicate openly, and learn from each other. I'm sure you'll see many lively discussions, debates and chats once you LIKE our Karate Facebook page. So, please participate and have fun!
